When you read about all the high salaries and million dollar bonuses the executives of big companies in America are receiving, but you never hear about how they give back to the community, it makes you ponder why the country is in such a financial mess.
For me using my IRA real estate investment money to provide housing for working class families or singles is a good way to give to others. Using your investment money to provide much needed community development is a necessary part of helping neighborhoods that have fallen into hard times.
But when you read about a company that gives a large portion, as much as 40% back to the communities in the way of programs such as homeowner training or youth-at-risk programs it reminds me why I love this country called America. Those companies who are giving back to make this a better place to live are the ones I want to put my IRA real estate investments with.
Investing in IRA real estate investments makes good sense when looking to diversify your portfolio. If you have all your IRA holdings in stocks and bonds and the market plunges or bond rates fall, you could be holding a near empty nest egg when you need it most –at retirement age.
With the foreclosures that are going on as I write this article there are sure to be families in need of a nice affordable place to live. Whether it is rental property or something they can afford to buy, either way they need places to live.
